    Logistics Engineering Solution Design Specialist
    Manufacturing Engineering
    Contract Position based near Solihull (hybrid, 3 days per week on site)

    This is initially a short term Logistics Engineering Solution Design Specialist role, covering the early concept phases of a potentially large scale logistics project.

    We are looking for a proven Logistics Engineer or Planner, with broad knowledge of logistic engineering solutions, processes, systems and equipment and latest market trends.

    Contribute to the robust programme delivery and strategy execution to support a flawless programme launch

    Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues on the development of logistics requirements and material flow strategies, ensuring Best in Class Logistics solutions for new vehicle programmes.

    Design and improve processes of moving material throughout the factory and warehouse including lineside material presentation, warehouse design/ optimisation, development of lean logistics solutions.

    Contribute to the development of layout plans for decks, market place and lineside in support of changes in model, volume, shift patterns
    Establish business requirement / engage with stakeholders and customers alike and present sound logistics engineering solutions.

    These will require elements of finance justification and once approved you will lead the end result through to delivery, where relevant.

    These projects will include all aspects of Sustainability and Health & Safety.
    Previous experience and background in Manufacturing Logistics
    Broad knowledge of logistic engineering solutions, processes, systems and equipment and latest market trends. In-plant logistics processes, lineside delivery methods, storage media, kitting strategies, AGVs and handling equipment
    Knowledge and experience of supporting requirements gathering, solution and layout designs, business case creation, right through to delivery and final project completion of logistics solutions
    Experience or knowledge of project management and process improvement
    Ability to maintain and interpret logistics data knowledge and skills with a broad understanding of the interfaces into vehicle platforms and plants
    Strong IT skills and Microsoft package elements Powerpoint and Excel
    Experience working overseas or in an international project context or keen desire to do so
    CAD skills to create and maintain lineside layout drawings
