What does this Care Assistant job involve?
- To attend under the guidelines set up by the House Manager, to the personal needs of residents with special responsibility for individual residents.
- To undertake the physical care of the sick, (including dressing, washing and feeding residents).
- To undertake social duties, (including talking with residents and helping them where appropriate to maintain contact with family, friends and community).
- To assist with shopping, recreation and activities.
- Attend Fire Drills, Staff Meetings, and relevant courses funded by The Society.
- To prepare relevant information on residents, verbally and in writing, for the senior staff member, including Care Plans.
- Operation of the house laundry.
- Conform to house rules, including not accepting gratuities from residents, suppliers etc.
- Care, maintenance and safekeeping of The Society's property, including macerator, washing machines etc.
- We are adhering to the provisions of the Fire Regulations and the Health & Safety at Work Act etc.
- Escorting residents for hospital visits etc., when requested.
