Your role at Orbit.


Orbit are delighted to announce that we are looking to recruit a M&E Stock Condition Surveyors to predominantly cover the South East of the UK.

In this role you will be carrying out, managing and analysing stock condition surveys for all of our Mechanicaland Electrical Equipment and providing data to produce long-term investment plans.


Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Undertake asset verification, condition or dilapidation surveys on M&E plant
  • Undertake data capture and record in our confirmed template
  • Assess and provide specific insight into the condition, performance and operational risk of M&E systems
  • Produce full building system cause and effect reports
  • Correctly identify, anticipate and where appropriate research all M&E assets expected in any built environment
  • Review statutory compliance documentation pertaining to building regulations, H&S and fire safety
  • Identify issues which may affect other projects in the broader portfolio
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with onsite engineers and staff to gain access
  • Produce Feasibility surveys and short/long term planned programmes
  • Work and support developers and external contractors to imbed soft landings

To be successful in this role of M&E Stok Condition Surveyor we require someone with a strong building services engineering background, either as a tradesperson or through an M&E design/facilities management career.

You will need to have a good working knowledgeof engineering plant, equipment and understanding of applicable building services standards.

It is also essential that you have:

  • Engineering qualifications
  • Significant experience in managing building safety/customers safety/M&E compliance based works
  • Experience of working within the construction and\or building sector
  • Post inspection and onsite audit experience of M&E equipment.
  • Experience of interpreting information and undertaking analysis of information from differing sources to formulate a conclusion
  • Ability to understand and analyse complex MEP problems
  • Experience of interpreting information and undertaking analysis of information from differing sources to formulate a conclusion
  • Able to travel to meet the requirements of the role
  • Willing and able to participate in the out of hours emergency roster
