Due to a significant period of growth, our offsite team is expanding and we are now recruiting for a
Store Operative with Yard Duties.


Working as part of the stores team you will be completing work tasks to ensure materials are delivered to the machine shop / production facility in a timely manner and to plan.

Tasks can include first line QC checking on delivered materials, counting/consolidation of stock materials, kitting material in preparation for delivery to production line and for delivery to site, completing internal documentation, stock control and cycle counts.

Goods receiving and forklift duties will also be expected.


They must be proficient in timekeeping, work well under pressure, and have the ability to work effectively on their own initiative.


About The Role

Role Summary
As a Store Operative with Yard Duties, and member of our Offsite Team, you will be required to:

  • Assist in the preparation and kitting/locating of materials required both to production and site
  • Assist in the documenting and sorting/ referencing of glass, flashings and galvanized sheets on to pallets/a frames and deliver to required area.
  • Complete QC documentation and records and file for future reference
  • Notify your team leader of any discrepancies arising from checking/QC process
  • Receipt of goods, counting and checking correct quantities are received
  • Complete delivery paper work as required
  • Keep area clean and check equipment before and after use.
  • Follow safe working methods as instructed. Safe manual handling capability.
  • Follow Health and Safety Procedures and all times.
  • Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained and cooperate with management regarding matters of health, safety and welfare.
  • Work within the frameworks laid down by the ISO9001 and ISO14001 systems. Complete all quality checks required.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Participate in education and training as necessary, to enable the achievement of company objectives as communicated to you.
  • Work as part of a team and maintain a harmonious working environment. Be aware of and adhere to requirements of the company culture vision and values in all people, interactions and morale both inside and outside the company.
  • Treat work colleagues with respect, be willing to accept new tasks, work effectively and contribute positively to team success.
  • Operative forklift, combilift and manitou in compliance with H&S. Complete daily checks on all machinery before operating.

Required Criteria

  • Minimum 12 years experience working in a fabrication/manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail skills.
  • The ability to work effectively on your own initiative.
  • The ability to work well under pressure.
  • Proficient in timekeeping.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative while contributing effectively to a team environment.
  • Experience operating forklift and an in date forklift licence

Desired Criteria

  • Experience working in the aluminium fabrication of curtain walling, windows and doors.
  • GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade C or above).
  • Understanding of H&S requirements within a workshop environment.
