Due to growth of our business, we are currently seeking a Planner to join our team at PALL in Harbourgate, Portsmouth

You would be joining a growing that offers plenty of opportunities for learning, growth and future career development.


Main duties:
Determine efficient finished goods inventory level to achieve OTD (On Time Delivery) target across European for assigned market:

  • Obtain buy-in from regional commercial leaders on the planned inventory, the associated risks and the corresponding leadtime expectations.
  • Partner with product management and operation team in product life cycle management.
  • Work with Supply Management team to ensure timely arrival of replenishment supplies.
  • Develop tools to better optimize inventory and improve planning efficiency

Manage inventory aging and obsolescence:

  • Minimize likelihood of inventory obsolescence through accurate finished goods management.
  • Identify aging inventory and seek inventory reallocation opportunities globally.
  • Work with local supply chain teams to execute inventory reallocation.

Ensure accuracy of Supply Chain related system parameter:

  • SAP master data
  • Various analytics tools

Manage intercompany freight activities to achieve financial targets:

  • Analyze cost drivers and evaluate the tradeoffs across various freight modes
  • Recommend improvement to freight policies with consideration to inventory and OTD impact

Recommend and implement inventory management strategies:

  • Adhere to Global and European inventory management framework
  • Make recommendations to the improve the inventory management framework
Prepare monthly demand planning related reports and recommend actions to drive improvement:

  • Prepare monthly key performance indicators report
  • Provide root cause analysis

Cross functional Process Improvement and implementation:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement processes.

Knowledge & Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable success and experience in a Supply Chain / Purchasing role.
  • Material planning systems to include MRP, Demand Forecasting, production Scheduling and Inventory Management.


  • Excellent IT skills

  • Excel essential.
  • Knowledge in SAP.
  • Knowledge of Supplier management.
  • Purchasing and Commercial Awareness.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications/Education:

  • Educated to HNC/HND or equivalent in either a Manufacturing, Engineering or Business discipline or vocational specific qualification (e.g. IOM Diploma in Production and Operations management, CIPS Foundation / Graduate Diploma)
