General Operative - Saw

Our client, based in Great Dunmow (CM6), is looking for a General Operative - Saw on a potentially temporary to permanent opportunity.

The role:

The role will involve loading raw material sheets onto a Band saw machine, checking order notes, cutting to lengths to customer specification, unloading and storing them accordingly within the warehouse.

General Operative - Saw - Responsibilities
- operation of on machinery such as saw & drill line to produce steel components/prep/plates to support the welding and fabrication team.

Previous experience operating machinery for heavy steelwork is essential
Experience using either saw & drill line or a metal working machine would be advantageous.

Experience Required:

Documentation Skills, Basic Safety, Equipment Maintenance, Power Tools, Lifting, Dependability, Independence
Previous manufacturing experience is desired to be successful in this role. Ideally you will have worked in a factory environment before, operating machinery, including a band saw
Work is strenuous so you will need to be able to work under pressure and have the ability to carry heavy objects
Good knowledge of maths and ability to translate to accurate measurements on sheet and section

Hours are 07:30 to 16:00 with 30 minute unpaid break
Pay rate up to £12.00 ph depending on experience.
