    JOB TITLE:
    Buyer

    DEPARTMENT:
    Purchasing

    RESPONSIBLE FOR:
    Procurement of Products and Services

    HYBRID WORKING:
    2 Days in the office (EC4M 9AF)

    MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • To ensure optimal service levels for customers through efficient purchasing at competitive prices.
    • Develop strong supplier relationships, ensuring access to deals and leveraging information for negotiations.
    • Negotiate effectively to enhance margins and secure favorable prices.
    • Collaborate with sales teams to address order-related issues.
    • Interact clearly with various departments such as sales, distribution, inventory, and accounts payable.
    • Ensure accurate purchase orders for seamless invoice processing.
    • Review and enhance work practices for efficiency.
    • Resolve supplier issues promptly and efficiently.
    • Create and manage purchase orders within set timelines.
    • Record all purchase order modifications accurately.
    • Work closely with the warehouse to resolve issues promptly.
    • Provide departmental cover and assist colleagues as needed.
    • Support team members in understanding best practices and processes.
    • Recognize the purchasing role in supporting business objectives.

    KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
    • Prior procurement experience, preferably in IT sector.
    • Proficiency in supplier negotiations for cost-effective and quality outcomes.
    • Strong numerical and communication skills.
    • Ability to excel under pressure.
    • Self-driven decision-maker with attention to detail.

    Microsoft Office skills, preferably including:
    Excel and Word but not essential
