What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
This role is part of the Global Toxicology team.


The purpose of the role is to support the toxicological ingredient and material evaluations of BATs products in accordance with guidelines from the Product Stewardship Council (PSC) in line with the R&D Policy Framework, Corporate Positions and specific legislation for our product categories.

To be an integral member of the team supporting the delivery of innovations to market.


The role holder will support the activities necessary for the successful functioning of the Vapour team who carry out toxicological assessments on products, materials, and ingredients for use.

Activities will include supporting the toxicologists in their day-to-day work whilst gaining hands-on experience in toxicological assessment techniques.


What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?


By delivering against BAT's combustible strategy, you will be directly responsible for the toxicological evaluations of consumer facing products and innovations.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Update planning systems (3Dx and Lyra) to support vapour planning activities to ensure resourcing is appropriately accounted for within the team.
  • Work closely with the toxicologists to understand assessment requirements.
  • Lead and manage all correspondence and queries from Project Managers to ensure all necessary information is provided in a timely manner for input to weekly progress updates and monthly resource meetings.
  • Manage any required projects and initiatives in consumer product safety with respect to streamlining processes.
  • Support delivery of key vapour innovation projects.
  • Work closely with product development teams as an enabling partner.
  • Maintain and build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and designated contacts within BAT.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE

Experience Required

  • Awareness of technical developments in the vaping landscape.
  • Demonstrated experience in administrationbased tasks.

Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required

  • Good attention to detail with a keen problemsolving attitude to enable driving efficiencies for the team.
  • Proficient computing skills to facilitate use of "in house" database, skilled user of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Good communication, organisational and planning skills.
  • Selfmotivated, taking ownership of the role and adopting a disciplined approach to ensure accountabilities and deadlines are met.
  • Demonstrable a positive "can do" attitude supported by a drive to succeed plus flexibility in adapting to new tasks and changing priorities.
  • May be a member of a relevant professional body such as the British Toxicology Society.

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • Understanding of how nicotine products or devices are constructed and/or function in principle.
