We have an exciting opportunity to join the Medical Staffing Resourcing & Recruitment team.


We are looking for a pro-active, enthusiastic and motivated individual who will provide high quality administrative support for the provision of an effective, integrated and comprehensive recruitment and resourcing service with regard to the recruitment and on-boarding of medical staff.

The post holder will be expected to work with a number of key stakeholders to ensure an effective and timely recruitment and resourcing service within Medical Staffing.


Applicants must have excellent communication skills, a good working knowledge of recruitment and be flexible in their approach in order to deal with set deadlines and varying work loads.

Applicants should also be team players and possess interpersonal and organisational skills.

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust operates hospitals on our two main sites in Cheltenham and Gloucester, and were one of the largest NHS trusts in the country.

Our workforce of almost 8,000 staff provide high quality emergency, elective and specialist care across a range of clinical areas

  • To support the resourcing team in advertising new posts, setting them up on ESR and creating them on NHS Jobs.
  • Attend interviews as required for the nontraining posts.
  • Following interview, take responsibility for all documentation to ensure conditional offer letters and starter forms are sent, along with sending details to the Training Department to arrange Trust Inductions/mandatory training.
  • To ensure all preemployment checks are carried out as part of the recruitment process.
  • Answering the telephone and dealing with general recruitment enquiries.
  • To maintain all recruitment records and filing systems, ensuring that accurate information can be easily obtained.
  • Ensure all trainee rotational posts are up to date and recorded accurately and timely.
  • Support the replacement of Trust Doctor Posts in line with the requirements of the service.
  • To provide advisory service and support to managers on the Terms and Conditions of employment for Medical and Dental Staff
  • To record annual and study leave for all junior doctors
  • Record sickness/maternity for all doctors and consultants and forward to payroll each month
  • Check ESR against establishment of junior doctors monthly and confirm with payroll.
  • Complete exit forms and leaver forms for payroll as required
  • Prepare and send out employment contracts in a timely manner for all medical staff
  • Undertake monthly GMC registration checks
