Description

The Role:

Responsibilities:

Support the teaching and learning of children with SEND, working closely with the class teacher and other professionals where necessary.
Use Makaton and PECs to support communication with children who have speech and language difficulties.
Provide onetoone and small group support to children with SEND.
Plan and deliver interventions to support children with SEND, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Deliver Read Write Inc (RWI) phonics sessions to small groups of children who need additional support.

Requirements:

Experience working with children with SEND, including those with ASD.
Knowledge and experience in using Makaton and PECS to support communication.
Experience delivering phonics interventions, preferably using Read Write Inc (RWI).
Knowledge of SEN support strategies and interventions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team and to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
