About the role


We have an exciting new opportunity for an ambitious individual to join an experienced and motivated Information Assurance Services (IAS) team.

You will be responsible for providing high quality legal compliance advice to University colleagues at all levelsand on a range of matters supported by a knowledgeable and friendly team of colleagues.

Here at The University of Leicester, we value the importance of protecting our information assets which include the information relating to staff, students and other individuals in whatever form that information is held.

The IAS team form part of the Planning, Legal & Governance Services, centrally managing all statutory responses to Freedom of Information and Data Protection requests, and lead on compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR); Data ProtectionAct 2018 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000 along with other related legislation.

The team currently consists of three full-time and one part-time, Senior Information Assurance Officers, being led by our IAS Manager who is also the Data Protection Officer(DPO).

We currently have hybrid working arrangements with some working days of the week on campus and other days working from home.


About you
You will need to have excellent organisation and time management skills and the ability to manage an independent workload. You should also be able to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and fully understand the importance of confidentiality.
