This is an exciting trainee role, which is suitable for those looking to work in the homelessness/housing sector, but who have limited/no previous work experience in this field.


This role offers an opportunity to work with people who have experienced homelessness, supporting them to move into their own secure tenancy and maintain this with support.


This role offers frontline experience, as well as support from experienced practitioners and is suitable for those with a keen interest and passion in this area, including people who have lived experience of homelessness.


  • Developing and maintaining relationships with residents to enable personcentred support
  • Adopting a psychologically informed approach to supporting and coaching residents
  • All aspects of tenancy sustainment
  • Advocating and supporting residents including accompany to appointments


Islington Council is committed to ending rough sleeping and this post is part of a new team, which the council has secured funding for as part of this ambition.


The team will be based within the Housing Needs service and will be led by a dedicated and passionate management team, as well as a skilled and passionate team who hold service users at the heart of everything they do.


This post is part of a new team, which will work with 20x people with a history of rough sleeping move into their own properties and will offer ongoing tenancy sustainment support to help them maintain their tenancies, as well as helping to identify and achieve their goals and aspirations to live well.
