Ambient People is recruiting interim Senior Internal Auditor for a local authority based in central England.

You will join an independent assurance function in delivering a range of audits, providing the Council with a view on risk management, internal control, and governance.

As such, you will use demonstrably strong audit, control, and governance experience to provide assurance to council officers and contribute to the proper, economic and effective use of resources.

As such, key responsibilities include:

Plan, in consultation with Senior Managers the detailed strategy to be adopted in carrying out assigned audits. This will include developing an audit brief through to a suitable testing programme.
Accurately, analyse and interpret complex information from a multitude of different systems to solve problems and develop appropriate solutions. Leading to being able to review and assess audit findings during and at completion of audit.
Undertake a range of activities using audit techniques, including but not restricted to risk and systembased reviews, value for money studies, lean processes exercises and compliance monitoring, along with the use of internal audit software packages.

Some travel to central England will be required though this will be a predominantly home-based role. The office is commutable within an hour from London.
