The Department of Computer Science and Technology is an academic department within the University of Cambridge that encompasses Computer Science, along with many aspects of Engineering, Technology and Mathematics.


We are seeking an Administrator/PA to work closely with a number of senior professors in the Department to assist in the efficient day-to-day operations of their work, which includes their teaching and research projects.

The role holder will also frequently interact with members of the professional support team in the Department who support academic staff, researchers and students in their work.

This is a new role and the role holder will have the opportunity to develop best ways of working. The work will consist of tasks such as electronic diary management, managing and responding to daily incoming information, making travel arrangements, expense claims, arranging meetings (e.g. book venues, arrange catering), and preparing agendas, taking minutes and following up actions. The role holder will also organise and provide support for events such as research seminars and outreach events.


An important part of the role will be placing and updating content on the website using a content-management system, e.g.

updating links to talks, papers and other information relating to the work of research projects, as well as managing the social media presence for relevant research group.


With some experience of personal assistant work, ideally in an educational setting, you will have excellent organisational skills, good time management and have the ability to prioritise a diverse and changing workload.

The post is full time, working 36.5 hours per week. This is a fixed term contract for 2 years.
