About the Company:


Level 3 CNC Machining Apprenticeship Standard


N&R Needham was first established in 1972 in some small industrial premises close to Chesterfield town centre by Neville Needham with some help from his brother Robert and father George.

With some hard work and enthusiasm the company soon outgrew the premises. In early 1977 the company moved into its own purpose built premises in Clay Cross, just outside chesterfield.


We are currently seeking 1 Apprentice CNC Machinist

Working week:

Monday to Thursday: 7:30am to 4:00pm

Friday: 7:30am to 3:00pm

Total hours per week: 39


Expected apprenticeship duration:

42 Months


Planned start date:

July 2024


Apprenticeship level:

Advanced Level 3


What does the job role involve?
Setting, operating, programing, loading and maintaining CNC machines.

Manufacturing a variety of components in metals alloys and plastics.


What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As well as gaining a broad range of professional knowledge and experience, you will gain academic and vocational qualifications such as the CNC Machining Apprenticeship Standard, Level 3 NVQ Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering
- pathway CNC Machining and Level 3 extended diploma in machining.


What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?


You could continue to develop your career by choosing to obtain further qualifications, develop and improve your management and leadership skills or even move across the different areas of the business to pursue a career in your chosen field.
