Originally formed by the London Borough of Newham as an innovative and independent vehicle for the acquisition and refurbishment of temporary accommodation.

We work in 8 London boroughs and across a variety of districts in Essex. We continue to buy and refurbish properties and added 300 homes to our stock last year. We also offer intermediate rented homes for local key workers.

Customer Accounts Officer

**Salary: £38,745


Requirements:


  • To carry out a range of income recovery duties relating to rent and service charge and ensure that Local Space's income is maximised, whilst achieving the organisation's social objectives.
  • You will be responsible for achieving the lowest possible levels of current rent and former tenancy arrears. This will be achieved by taking appropriate action in accordance with Local Space's current and former tenants' arrears policies and procedures. You will also represent Local Space at court in possession and other enforcement proceedings relating to arrears and other tenancy related matters.
  • Whilst you will be focussed on income recovery activities, you will be expected (as required) to support your Housing Service colleagues in other areas, such as lettings, estate inspections, general tenancy related issues, and promoting greater customer involvement.
