Are you looking to get qualified as a
level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative through Shipley College? Then this is an amazing opportunity for someone to pick up some new skills and gain a recognised qualification.

During your time as an apprentice,
we will also fund your Counterbalance FLT licence.


We have
2 spaces available, one based at our Woodlands warehouse (BD4 6SE) and the other at the Grattan warehouse (BD8 8LG).

As an apprentice you will be working as a part of the warehouse team to ensure the smooth process of orders, delivering good standards of customer service and ensuring high levels of stock integrity.


What is an apprenticeship?
An apprenticeship is a paid job where the employee learns and gains valuable experiences.

Alongside on-the-job training, apprentices spend at least 20% of their working hours completing classroom-based learning with a college, university or training provider which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.


This includes:

  • Paid employment with holiday leave
  • Handsonexperience
  • At least 20% offthejob training
  • Formal assessments which leads to a nationally recognised qualification (level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative)

What we are looking for?
We are looking for a keen team player that is ready to learn on the job. Great communication and a proactive approach to problem solving are essential.

You must also be able to adhere to our Standard Operating Procedures for both the admin duties and warehouse duties that you will be responsible for.


The primary responsibilities for this role will be:

Warehouse
Goods Inwards - Ensure goods received into the warehouse are received as per relevant SOP. Locate products correct location and be confident in both handwritten as well as digital documents.

Goods Outwards - Ensure all picked goods leave with relevant documentation. Using appropriate equipment/MHE where needed, pick and process customers' orders as instructed by warehouse controller.


Housekeeping - Undertake general Warehouse duties such as Container Destuff, Rework, Re-palletising products, wrapping pallets, stock checking, pick checking and any other warehouse requirement needed.


Administration
Goods Receipt - Ensure all inbound deliveries are accurately recorded into the WMS

Customer liaison - Liaise with customers regarding any account queries and deal with in a professional and timely manner. Capable of following appropriate escalation procedures.

Charging/Invoicing - Generate weekly charges for customers.

Technical Skills - PC literate, ideally having some exposure to Microsoft Packages. Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and experience of using Hand Held Scanners are both desirable but not essential. Good knowledge of health & safety standards to ensure these are maintained within our operations.

Personal Skills - Able to work under pressure in a demanding environment working to high standards. Good people and communication skills. A positive attitude and proactive approach towards problem solving. Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed effectively for both Warehouse and Admin Duties.

Hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (Woodlands) or 09:00 - 17:00 (Grattan).


Salary:
National Minimum Wage / Living Wage (£4.81 up to £9.50)
