Team information


The Ombudsman Sponsorship team sits within the Strategy, Policy and Reform directorate and is responsible for the strategic oversight of the Rail Ombudsman and holding the service provider to account for delivery of the service.

The wider work of the Strategy, Policy and Reform directorate is responsible for ORR's activities concerning access to the rail network, the licensing of rail operators, international policy, and our role in protecting rail passengers by monitoring and enforcing passenger-facing licence conditions as well as consumer law.


Job description:


Job Purpose:


This is a new role within the Ombudsman Sponsorship team and presents an exciting opportunity for someone to contribute to our growing and evolving work in this area.

Reporting to the Head of Ombudsman Sponsorship, you will work across all aspects of the team's activities, with the opportunity to contribute to special projects, as required, within the wider Strategy, Policy and Reform directorate.

The post-holder will gain experience in areas including project management and planning, contract management, procurement, regulatory compliance monitoring, policy development and stakeholder engagement.
