Description
Lutine Bell are supporting a Large Chinese Insurance Organisation who are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant who is fluent in Chinese (either Mandarin or Cantonese).
About the role:
The Financial Accountant will take responsibility for managing the delivery of efficient controls and processes across finance operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include establishing best practice, process improvements and embedding strongcontrols. The role will report to the Senior Finance Manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- To support the Finance Department on tasks across finance operations to deliver efficient and effective outcomes
- Take lead to implement system enhancement and migration projects
- Responsible for the preparation, completion and consolidation of the Monthend, Quarter end and Yearend accounting, including financial reports for our holding company, analytical analysis and commentary
- Reconcile the intercompany balance sheet payables and receivables accounts, settling balances and clearing receipts and payments
- Contribute to the planning of annual audit and handle the queries from auditors
- Contribute to the planning of annual budget, forecast and cashflows
- Participate in Cash flow and Liquidity management
- Prepare and complete Corporation Tax and other tax matters as requested
- Preparation of Solvency II QRT quarterly and other regulatory reports
- Oversee the development and documentation of appropriate procedures and policies
- Maintain filing and records in accordance with departmental procedures and best practices
- Deliver adhoc report requested by the management
Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience in financial reporting role, previously worked within the Insurance industry is preferred
- A bachelor's degree in accounting and finance or a related field
- Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA) or equivalent
- Experience in owning the business model and running financial planning activities including annual budget and reforecasts
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
- Have awareness of control environments within financial systems and ability to address weakness
- Willing to work overtime to meet the deadline of the assigned tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and writing communication skills, good level of Mandarin language is a plus
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
