Our client, a leader in the Automotive industry, is on the lookout for an Assistant Buyer to join their procurement team in their Milton Keynes Branch.
A fantastic opportunity with progression and development on offer and encouraged, we are looking to speakto anyone who has at least 12 months experience in a similar setting and understands the procurement and buying processes in a business.
The package:

Duties include:
- Processing of adhoc requests (Both CAPEX and OPEX) with relevant suppliers and negotiating where possible to ensure value for money is being obtained.
- Managing transactional spend compliance and identifying improvements to process
- Manage selected procurement projects with the support of the wider Procurement team
- Own the collation of key MI reporting for supplier performance and work with wider Procurement team to identify areas of improvement and implement where needed
- Maintain preferred supplier list and communicate any changes with relevant stakeholders
- Monitor and escalate where necessary the financial health of key suppliers
- Collate required data for wider Procurement team
- Manage supplier rebate reconciliation ensuring timely payment of rebate payments
- General supplier administration management (e.g fuel card administration)
- Proactively resolve any queries from stakeholders (Internal and external)
About you:
- At least 12 months experience in a purchasing or purchasing administration environment (Essential)
- Confident in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (Essential)
- Proactive and enthusiastic approach to work (Essential)
- Excellent communicator who is comfortable speaking with clients and customers alike (Essential)
- Use of company payment systems and portals (i.e. SAP, SAGE) (Desirable)
- Knowledge/Experience of automotive industry (Desirable)
