    Description

    WHAT TO EXPECT


    Engineering Laboratories forms the backbone of JLR's internal vehicle test and development capability, and is responsible for a wide and diverse range of activities including Structural Test, Body Rig Test, Road Load Data, Analytical Facilities, NVH, Climatic Test, and Safety Test.


    The Technologies Development team are responsible for the design and delivery of facility components, test rigs and the infrastructure required to support physical test plans. The team also lead, from concept through to delivery, the delivery of new facilities, technology and infrastructure in-line with Product Engineering strategies and requirements.


    We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of new test physical test facilities within JLR. The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager / project engineer with a good understanding of the differing requirements of road based, laboratory based and virtual engineering tools and equipment.


    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


    Adopt and ensure best practice project management principles are followed within the team.
    Lead a small team of engineers to deliver new facilities, technology and infrastructure according to business and programme requirements.
    Create and present to senior leadership well justified business cases to guide company strategy and manage capital investment programme.
    Liaise with teams across Engineering, Finance, Purchasing, Group Safety and Property on a pro-active basis.
    Hands-on approach to problem solving and implementation of solutions.
    Management of detailed timing plans, cost trackers, project and documentation.
    Support the personal development of the wider team.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED


    Ability to lead and coordinate the design of complex systems with multiple requirements.
    Ability to construct timing plans, schedule work tasks and manage team activities to completion.
    Ability to create strong business cases and manage project spend.
    Experience managing the requirements of a diverse range of stakeholders.
    Experience of collaborative team environments.
    Experience operating and working in a technically capable team.
    Broad understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
    Experience working in or around a physical test environment and ideally educated to degree level in a related discipline.
    Experience with any of the following - Servio Hydraulics, Test Rig control, CAD / CAE, Data Logging equipment, HIL or SIL equipment, building civils or M&E
