Deputy Team Leader (Unit 3)

Hours:
Continental Shift System (days: 6am - 6pm, nights: 6pm - 6am)


Rate of Pay:
£30,770.24 per annum


Job Purpose


As a Deputy Team Leader you will provide cover for a Team Leader and take responsibility for the Production Operators - and their output levels - working on the relevant shift.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

Operational

  • To actively contribute to, and undertake, continuous improvement activities.
  • To deliver training to the shift and manage the competency levels required for operational output, working in partnership with the Training Coordinator for Unit 3.
  • To complete NCR's and liaise with the Quality Team to support the associated process.
  • To lead the shift to ensure all targets and quality standards are met across all processes whilst ensuring H&S guidelines are followed.
  • To ensure a smooth workflow is achieved utilising operators and equipment effectively to ensure the correct orders are shipped and on time, achieving shift
KPI's.


  • To collate and report output figures.
  • Accurately complete all required shift documentation for compliance against quality standards.
  • To release, track and close work orders.
  • Provide the team with the relevant information to carry out their shift to maximum effect.
  • Manage, resolve and escalate day to day issues with quality, processes, equipment, materials, and team members.
  • Responsible for stock and scrap control, ensuring targets are met.
  • Night/weekend working, responsible for all personnel on site (production operators and maintenance technicians).
  • Liaise with key personnel across different departments to support the continuous improvement programme, including raising product issues and quality concerns.
  • Manage sickness absence for the relevant shift in accordance with the Sickness
Absence Policy and Procedure.


  • Adhere to all policy documents for the duration of the shift.
