About the role

Our Balfour Beatty
Ground Engineering business has a terrific opportunity for a
Commercial Assistant to join our SB3 Commercial team based in Birmingham, working on the HS2, N1/ N2 project.

The HS2, N1/ N2 project covers the northern 90km section of Phase 1 of the overall HS2 scheme to provide a new high-speed rail connection between London and the Midlands, connecting to existing rail infrastructure to complete the journey to Manchester.

SB3 are a joint venture incorporating Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering (BBGE) and Bachy Soletanche Ltd (BSL), and are appointed by BBV, (Balfour Beatty/ Vinci JV), to deliver the geotechnical works required along the approximately 90km of route from Leamington Spa to Lichfield.

What you'll be doing

Other key responsibilities will be:

Ordering information and systematically checking data
Supporting the QS / MQs in checks against live subcontracts and administering payments
Supporting the QS in the updating of forecasting document and review of cost reports
Identifying issues with cost report and following through rectification of these errors
Checking allocation sheets and rates against labour subcontracts
Administering payments with QS/MQS on R1
Supporting with checks on cost report and monthly reporting.

Who we're looking for

You are looking for the following:

Previous Commercial Work experience
Completed or in the process of completing a BSc in Quantity Surveying
Construction industry knowledge
