Job Description Freight Planner, BedfordResolve Recruitment are collaborating with one of the UKs prominent distribution companies.
Due to growth, their skilled freight division is searching for an experienced Freight Planner to join their team based in Bedford.
The role:
- Carry out orders using various modes of transport (Air, Sea and Road) ensuring timely and cost-effective processing – mainly focused on Australia, New Zealand, and Japan
- Conduct yourself professionally and cooperatively, encouraging best practices and setting a positive example
- Cultivate strong working relationships with clients and transport partners
- Assist all departments as needed to resolve queries, offer feedback, engage in calls/meetings, fill in for absent teammates, obtain rates, etc
- Collaborate with all entities across our UK and EU locations
- Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in activities such as order processing, job authorization, document upload, use of client and carrier tariffs, rate shopping, etc.
- Work both independently and as part of a team, fostering a productive work environment and achieving successful outcomes
- Take part in and back regular operational reviews, ensuring follow-up on actions and continual enhancement
- Maintain files and records within the network, promoting effective communication of updates and adherence to procedures
- Assess shipment requirements for EU/UK Customs clearance, offering guidance to clients and team members as needed
The person:
- Essential experience in a Transport/Freight Planning role – minimum 1 year
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
- Effective presentation and communication abilities
- Vital knowledge of transport/freight forwarding industry
- Sound grasp of commercial activities
- Strong communicator across all levels and sets a positive example
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
The package & hours:
- Competitive starting salary of up to £25-£27,000 DOE
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Monday to Friday schedule with other shifts available
