Description

We are looking for Histopathologist(s) with an interest in delivering the core service with 9 WTE Consultant and junior Drs for a 6 month fixed term placement.


The appointee will support the provision of Diagnostic Histopathology (Dissection and reporting of Histological Specimens), in addition to supporting the post mortem service under supervision of Consultant Pathologists.

There is time and resource allocation for training including study leave to fulfil the successful applicants' educational needs.

Named Educational Supervisors will be identified the successful applicant(s) educational needs at the first appraisal within one week of the appointment.


The appointee will support the dissection and reporting of diagnostic histological specimens as well as supporting the Post Mortem service under the supervision of Consultant Pathologists.

The Cellular Pathology Department is fully UKAS accredited to ISO 15189:2012 and runs a routine Diagnostic Histopathology service.


The Department has successfully supported the development of Trainee Histopathologists from within and without the EoE Deanery, and has a proven track record of successes in trainees clearing the FRCPath examination.

The Department runs a biannual FRCPath Course in Harlow.


The appointee will support the dissection and reporting of diagnostic histological specimens as well as supporting the Post Mortem service under the supervision of Consultant Pathologists.

Post requirements:

MBBS degree

FRCPath Part 1 Necessary and Part 2 is desirable

English Language IELTS Examination

UK experience in a Diagnostic Histopathology Department would be an advantage
