  • We are now recruiting for a

Box Office Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. Shifts are flexible and variable that include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • New Theatre Cardiff is an exciting, fastpaced environment with a variety of shows, plays, music and comedy, as well as some community events.

About the role:


  • To generate income through ticket sales and positively promote New Theatre Cardiff; a Trafalgar Theatres Company. To be part of a customer facing team, providing a friendly and helpful welcome on behalf of the company to all customers and visiting companies.

Duties to include

  • To operate and assist with ticket sales and provide an efficient and seamless booking service to our customers.
  • Effective use and maintenance of our ticketing database and systems.
  • You will operate the telephones and work on our front desk to promote our shows, upsell our tickets and build a lasting relationship with our customers. Being confident on the telephone and demonstrating active listening to ensure we engage our audiences with our variety of shows throughout our busy season. You will also assist with general enquiries and customer feedback.
  • Full training on our ticketing system will be provided. Previous experience in an arts/entertainment setting would be adventatious.
  • You will be provided with an opportunity to develop within your role and within the wider company.

Your Experience

  • Provide excellent customer service and can effectively deal with criticisms and complaints
  • Flexible to adapt to the business needs and work calmly under pressure
  • Previous experience working in theatre or an entertainment venue
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems
