Job Purpose


We have an exciting new opportunity for a Director of HRIS (specifically Workday) to join our growing HR team here at Calyx.

Reporting directly into the Chief People Officer, you will be responsible for the global oversight of HR and Finance Workday processesand activities to ensure that Workday process design and system configuration supports the priorities laid out by HR Leadership.


Partnering with HR and business stakeholders, this role & supporting team will maintain and deliver continuous enhancements to Calyx's Workday tenant along with system functionality in line with the product's development and company strategy.

You will alsobe responsible for line managing a dedicated HRIS support team, so excellent leadership skills are essential in this role.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Serving as the HR Workday liaison with operations, technology, finance, and other stakeholders regarding process design, data integrity, and security requirements.
  • Consulting on HR future technology requirements & design, including assessing future system functionality and actively overseeing the entire project life cycle: from requirements gathering, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensuring that regional project and BAU support processes follow the defined prioritisation and governance structure.
  • Recommending BAU process improvements and innovative solutions leveraging Workday.
  • Facilitating Release, Upgrade and Change Request activities.
  • Helping to drive platform optimisation / new functionality adoption through usage analysis.
  • Advising and supporting the development of HR reporting and toolsets.
  • Assisting with vendor relationship management.
  • Line managing a team of HRIS Specialists; providing guidance, coaching and mentorship to direct reports.

Essential Skills and Requirements

  • Indepth knowledge and experience within design, configuration and testing processes for Workday HCM plus a combination of three or more of the following areas:
  • Recruitment, Absence, Learning, Performance, Talent, Compensation, TimeTracking.
  • Thorough & indepth Workday knowledge and demonstrable experience with process flow and configuration design.
  • Previous experience implementing and optimizing Workday.
  • Previous experience of deployment or supporting internal clients on HR systems
  • Management and deployment of Workday Feature releases, assessing and understanding beneficial features, mandatory impacts, deprecated fields, etc to ensure Calyx stays current.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Workday Security
  • Ability to create, manage and deliver Workday reports and Dashboards for different stakeholder groups
  • Experience of managing and support of Operational changes such as reorganisations, identifying impacts on Workday
  • Experienced with internal and external audits, able to demonstrate a positive improvement approach
  • Experienced in supporting organisation key annual events through Workday, such as pay review, performance reviews
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting or partnering with payroll to improve payroll accuracy where Workday is the data source, actively reducing processes impacting payroll processes / data errors
  • Leadership abilities to include spearheading work streams, conducting meetings, presentations to HR and Business users and leaders, training sessions, etc.
  • Previous experience managing a small team is a plus
  • Workday PRO accreditation (desirable)
