The
Position
As part of the Talent Pathway Performance team, you will be responsible, in conjunction with the department, for the development of Surrey's Player Pathway and all aspects related to Player development, especially the development of Surrey Batting Skillset
What you'll do
- Working within the Talent Pathway Performance Department, the management and delivery of a structured and coordinated approach to the talent identification and player development. This will be in accordance with Surrey's Youth County Coaching Programme and Performance Policy
- Lead, design and manage the Surrey Batting Skillset programme
- Lead, manage and provide appropriate developmental and training opportunities to Pathway Surrey Batting Skillset
- Work closely with the Head of Talent Pathway to provide relevant specialist Surrey Batting Skillset coaching support to the Performance and CAG programmes
- To have a strong awareness of Surrey Batting Skillset throughout Talent Pathway into the Professional Department
- Implement, monitor and review individual development and performance plans for Talent Pathway Elite Batsman
- Provide Surrey Batting Skillset support throughout Talents Pathway and Professional Department where appropriate and directed by Head of Talent Pathway and Director of Cricket.
- Manage, plan and develop the Performance and CAG Programmes, in conjunction with the Performance Staff and support across age ranges.
- Manage and be accountable for the financial planning and monitoring of the above Performance and CAG Programmes
- Manage, plan and develop the EPP programme in conjunction with the Head of Talent Pathway and Performance Coaches
- Provide reports and information to the Head of Talent Pathway on Player Development Programmes as when requested
- Deliver and provide coaching support within all areas of the Performance department, this includes Performance, CAG, EPP and Academy Programmes
- Carry out duties and responsibilities of a similar nature to those described above which may be allocated from time to time
The Person
Essential:
- A minimum ECB Level 3 or international equivalent coaching qualification or working towards ECB Level 4 or ECB Specialist Coach.
- An excellent knowledge and understanding of the transitional demands from Pathway to firstclass cricket
- Extensive coaching experience and expertise working with Pathway and CAG standard cricketers
- Track record of developing talented young Batsman into elite senior cricketers
- Experience of performance and technical analysis systems
- Satisfactory DBS certificate
- Minimum of Safeguarding Young Cricketers certificate and awareness and experience of safeguarding principles
