Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Llay Wrexham has an exciting opportunity for a Category Buyer
Full Time Permanent Contract
39 hours per week.

Job location:
Llay, Wrexham, LL12 0PB.
Unionised site - works in partnership with Unite the Union.

The Category Lead is responsible for achieving the Lowest Total Cost of Acquisition for the allocated category focussing on the key areas of Quality, Cost, Delivery, Innovation and Risk.

Working with key internal stakeholders to develop and deploy Category Strategies and leading Supplier Relationship Management. Implementation of Long Term Agreements to leverage group spend and drive contract compliance.

Category Strategy - development, implementation and refresh
Cost Reduction
- meeting annual and mid term targets whilst leveraging group spend
Long Term Agreements - implementation and adherence
Service Level Agreements - implementation and adherence
Supplier Relationship Management - structured business reviews KPI driven
Stakeholder Engagement - working with key functions to deliver on service
KPI reporting - responsible for supplier performance Quality/Cost/Delivery/Innovation/Risk
Supplier negotiations - key contact with the supplier base
Payment Terms - leading the cash flow improvement process
Supplier & Industry benchmarking - implementation of best practice
Operational Procurement escalation support linked to poor performance against contractual terms
Business Continuity - responsible for mitigating risk
Corporate Governance, Systems and Procedure compliance - sourcing within guidelines
Continuous Improvement to achieve the Lowest Total Cost of Acquisition and Process
NPI & change management - working with Category Lead NPI to ensure allocated Categories meet business targets
Commercial Bid for new work - supporting the Commercial Function in the Bid Process
Make versus Buy - leading the Category decision working with key functions
Position Requirements


Academic:

Degree


Experience:

1- 2 years Procurement experience or equivalent in a customer facing role


Professional Accreditations:

Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply desired or working towards the qualification
