We work closely with colleagues across all business areas to support them with their security requirements, and with colleagues in other security-related roles across the Bank through the Security Community.


Department Overview
The Physical Access Control Team (PACT) is responsible for providing services that help the Bank to be safer and stronger by enabling physical access for authorised Staff, Contractors, Tenants and visitors to the Banks locations, necessary for their roles and duties, including but not limited to:

  • Issuing, deactivating and revoking and photo passes
  • Management of Permanent and Temporary Privileged areas access
  • Biometric Scanning
  • Managing identity and access records
  • Reporting and auditing privileges
  • Technical Security Administration

Job description
We are looking to recruit into a critical area of Physical Security.

The role holder will be part of an existing small team and will be encouraged to become highly proficient in the BAU role.

The team's main responsibility is help the Bank be safer and stronger by maintaining the integrity of the Bank's Physical security environment by:

  • The control and assignment of permanent and temporary access for Privileged areas to Security photo passes.
  • Accurate control procedures are in place and followed for the production and issuance of Security photo passes.
  • Producing Reports and Management Information as required
- completing Audit and investigations requests relating to access control activity

  • Regular housekeeping of user profiles and access records on Security Systems
  • Supporting messaging in new joiner inductions and other channels to educate staff on access procedures and Personal Security solutions.
  • Identifying consumable supplies and planning inventory according to current and future needs and budget
  • Administration of other Security Products/solutions


The role requires a highly motivated, analytical, logical and hands on individual with a high level of accuracy and ability to work under pressure with limited supervision.

The PACT Officer will require confidence to liaise with stakeholders at all scales and the ability to work with a high level of discretion, and to deal with sensitive information.

Minimum Essential Criteria
- have good written and verbal communication skills
- have the ability to work accurately under pressure, displaying a high level of attention to detail, in a fast paced customer-facing environment
- have ability to plan and prioritise work and work under pressure to a successful outcome
- be confident to liaise with and challenge stakeholders at all scales (Executive Directors, Heads of Divisions etc.) as empowered by Policy.
- have excellent Microsoft Office skills
- ability to make sound, pragmatic decisions using own initiative
- be flexible, adaptable and able to multi-task effectively, willing to undertake routine activities as well as ad hoc tasks
- have the ability to exercise discretion at all times as the role will involve handling confidential/sensitive information
- be a good team player, willing to assist others
- have good customer service skills, with a high level of patience and diplomacy
- proactively identify opportunities for process improvements
- be highly motivated and a logical thinker


Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge and experience of access control and Biometric administration systems would be advantageous ideally C-Cure 9000 and Morpho Manager Biometric System
  • Badging or Security Experience
  • Experience in a front facing Customer Service role
  • Problem solving and analytical
