Description

Responsibilities:


  • Set up and operate printing presses and equipment, including offset presses, digital printers, and finishing machines.
  • Review job orders, specifications, and artwork to ensure accuracy and completeness before starting production.
  • Load printing plates, ink, and paper into the press, and adjust settings as necessary to achieve desired print quality.
  • Monitor press operation throughout the print run, making adjustments to ink, water, and pressure settings as needed.
  • Inspect printed materials for defects, such as misregistration, colour variations, and smudges, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on printing equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
  • Coordinate with prepress and finishing departments to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of jobs.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment and prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work activities and prioritize tasks.

Requirements:


  • Proven experience as a Printer in a commercial printing environment.
  • Proficiency in operating offset or digital printing presses and related equipment.
  • Knowledge of printing techniques, colour theory, and print production processes.
  • Familiarity with printing software and RIP (raster image processing) systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control to ensure accurate and consistent results.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and lift/move heavy materials.
  • Problemsolving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with clients.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in printing technology is a plus.

£29,400.00-£32,000.00 per year
