    Description

    New opportunity not to be missed Centrepoint, the UK's leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Skills and Employability Trainer to join our Services team in Manchester, based in the newly renovated Northern Quarter Office.     This is a permanent opportunity with a closing date of 21st May 2024 , interviews are planned to be held week commencing 3rd June 2024.

    We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently.

    Together with our partners, we support thousands of homeless young people each year.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high quality, dynamic, and responsive service across Manchester. The programme is target driven and you will be responsible for delivering accredited programmes and supporting young people to access work placements. These programmes will be provided to young people in small groups in the classroom.

    We are looking for a vibrant individual who has energy, focus and attention to detail, experience of delivering Functional Skills English and Maths up to Level 2, Employability and ideally have sector specific qualifications which can be utilised within our innovative vocational Get Set Go programmes.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Proactively recruit, assess and engage with an agreed number of learners in line with contracts.
    • Organise and deliver Functional Skills, employability and vocational skills, for young people through a blended learning approach including the use of digital based delivery models in group sessions.
    • Carry out initial assessments and learning plans for each young person and monitor their progress through regular reviews.
    • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of resources and processes.

    What we are looking for from you:

    • Teaching Qualification: We require candidates to be suitably qualified for the role, possessing a relevant teaching qualification such as PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE to QTS, or equivalent.
    • Qualification: A qualification as an Assessor is essential for this role.
    • of IQA Processes: A solid understanding of Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) processes is necessary to ensure the quality and compliance of our educational programs.
    • Competence: Demonstrable occupational competence in the subject area is vital to effectively impart knowledge and skills to learners.
    • Training Delivery: Proven ability to deliver innovative training both in the classroom and remotely, inspiring and motivating learners to achieve their goals.
    • with Funded Contracts: Experience in fulfilling the requirements of ESFA or similar funded contracts, external bodies, and meeting required standards is highly valued.
    • Planning: Ability to plan and devise schemes of learning (scheme of work) with appropriate teaching and learning strategies, resources, and assessments.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for developing and maintaining partner relationships.
    • Management: Strong ability to manage workload effectively, meeting conflicting deadlines and prioritizing tasks to adapt to crises and changes as they arise.
