Description

Lighting TDs are responsible for the final 3D scene assembly, lighting and rendering of elements required to complete visual effects shots for high-end photo-realistic VFX films, TV and commercials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

CG scene assembly
Lighting shots as briefed by the Supervisor
Creating efficient rendering setups in order to optimise render farm usage
Create simple tools to improve workflows
Creating lighting setups and/or working with current setups
Develop new lighting techniques and workflows.
Meet delivery deadlines under production constraints
Work closely with Supervisors to develop tools and workflows associated with lighting and look development

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Excellent Maya/Katana skills and solid understanding of rendering with Arnold
A strong knowledge of lighting techniques in a visual effects environment
A thorough understanding of the visual effects pipeline
Basic knowledge of Compositing in Nuke
A good understanding of colorspace
Basic knowledge of physically plausible shading techniques
Excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills
Superb problemsolving skills and ability to take the initiative and offer ideas and suggestions
Ability to work with competency and enthusiasm with mínimal supervision
Excellent listening and communication skills, and the ability to receive direction and criticism
Excellent presentation/communication skills in dailies/reviews by clearly and briefly outlining what has been accomplished and what next should be addressed in the shot
Demonstrates an excellent aesthetic eye, anticipating potential problems
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
