    Graduate Soil Scientist

    Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

    Salary: £24,000 - £28,000.

    Are you a recent environmental science, countryside management, earth sciences, physical geography or geology graduate? Are you looking for an exciting position in ground investigation and contaminated land? This geo-environmental consultancy, specialising in Phase I Desktop Studies and Phase II Site Investigation & Risk Assessments are seeking a Graduate Soil Scientist to join the team. With approximately 15 members of staff (allowing for focussed training and varied responsibilities) and a wide range of projects to work on, this consultancy can offer excellent opportunities to kickstart you career.

    The successful Graduate Soil Scientist will be offered:

    The Graduate Soil Scientist selected for the position will work on a variety of ground investihtaion projects, to familiarise with different challenges and sites. You'll be contributing to the supervision of ground investigations, Phase 1 Desk studies, carrying out risk assessments and collecting soil samples for analysis. Report writing skills will be developed over time.

    The successful Engineering Geologist will therefore:

    • Have a degree in geology, earth sciences, environmental science, geography or a heavily soil focussed subject.
    • Have exceptional communication and time management skills.
    • Hold a valid UK Driving licence.
    • Be commutable to Newcastle upon Tyne.
    • Willing to travel to sites and work in office.
    • Have a full right to work in the UK.
