We're working with an airspace organisation who are seeking a Head of Programmes, supporting delivery of UK-wide transformation.
As Head of Programmes you will lead on managing the overall book of work, integrating individual projects from within the industry and of partner organisations.
As a key element of this programme is airspace modernisation, management of this complex, multi-partner, multi-stakeholder programme is a key objective.
You will produce the required blueprint/masterplan documents in order to progress the multi-year programme, and in compliance with the regulatory framework and all appropriate regulatory considerations for this transformation.
- Lead on the development of a coherent and feasible programme plan for the change programme, taking into account individual sponsor constraints, and dependencies and ensuring the plan can be incorporated into the blueprint/masterplan and meets the associated regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for the creation, maintenance and integration of sponsor and partner project schedules. Ensure the effective coordination and proactive monitoring and reporting of project progress by building on existing processes and mechanisms to track progress.
- Support effective working relationships with airspace change sponsor project teams and the regulatory authorities, using communication skills to drive efficient and collaborative working practices between stakeholders in support of programme and organisational objectives.
- Responsible for reviewing and where necessary modifying the processes already in place to ensure accurate and timely programme reporting to demonstrate status and progress to internal and external stakeholder.
- Work closely with the risk lead to ensure a full and timely exchange of information on programme risks, opportunities and mitigations.
- Accountable for continuous improvements of planning, including ideas for getting the best use of the Programme Board and Steering Committee in these areas.
- Manage a small programme team to high standards, including on effective delivery and promoting team members' personal development.
Our client is looking for
- Significant experience in managing complex, multistakeholder infrastructure delivery programmes.
- Awareness and experience of the UK airspace sector, including regulatory, political, technology, operational, and commercial considerations.
- Agile programme methodology.
- Proven analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work positively with the full range of individuals and groups involved in the programme.
- Able to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary environment taking into account different perspectives and able to modify communication style appropriately.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships across the industry in support of programme objectives.
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects or programmes.
- Proven experience of managing and motivating a team.
