This is a great opportunity for an individual looking for an entry level role into surveying, to build their career in the GIS Sector, with future opportunities to progress into an Aerial Survey Task Specialist role.
The primary part of the role will be undertaking regular survey flights, both onshore mapping projects and offshore Digital Wildlife Surveys.
You will be required to assess the suitability of survey conditions against capture parameters, conduct pre-survey checks and system installations and preparing all equipment for your allocated missions.
Inflight, you will be motoring the survey system via the survey guidance software and conducting quality control on the data captured, along with downloading the flight data and survey logs post flight.
You will also be responsible for ensuring the safe storage of data in transit and completing post survey data handling and data delivery.
Flexibility is also required due to weather restrictions and survey deadlines. The role does require time away from home & overnight stays until surveys are complete.With staff working on a rotating roster to provide contuse cover over the whole week and will be on call during this time to cover any survey requirement that the company may have.
About you
Ideally you will have experience in aviation or a relevant field; although don't worry if you don't as full training will be given.
It is however essential that you have good technical skills with experience of dealing with Hardware coupled with fault finding and troubleshooting.
An interest in photography would be beneficial due to the types of equipment that you'll be dealing with and the daily tasks that you'll be expected to do.
To be successful in this role you will need to have a flexible attitude to work and hours, this includes be open to travel to different parts of the country.
It is essential you have a current driving licence and have your own vehicle and live near Chester. Flights operate from our office near Chester and due to flight timings public transport cannot be relied upon.
