About The Role:

Are you a highly motivated and seasoned mergers & acquisitions professional with a track record of delivering value through identification and acquisition of businesses that complement company strategy and vision? If so, APEM Group, a world-class environmental consultancy, is looking for a Head of M&A to join our team.

Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting APEM Group's growth targets through thoughtful, targeted and timely M&A activity.

This will involve you leading the full 360 transaction cycle, from identification and nurturing of relationships to execution of M&A activity and seamless handover to an integration project team.

Initially, this is a standalone role, requiring you to roll up your sleeves and personally drive the success of your projects.

You will be supported by an ambitious Board and also work collaboratively with senior managers across our sectors, who will leverage their relationships within the environmental sector to support you at key stages of the M&A lifecycle.

The key metric for success will be the successful identification and acquisition of businesses that complement the APEM Group strategy and vision.

Over time, you will have gained recognition for this work by the Board and built strong internal relationships that ensure a smooth handover from deal completion to integration of businesses.

As your reputation for executing strategically aligned deals grows, you will be looking to hire a small team to support the work you do.

Your team will join a department where you have created a strong platform for M&A activity, with a rich database of prospects and standard ways of working that allow for efficient transactions.

Over time you will focus more on long-term strategy.

From horizon scanning the next opportunity in the environmental sector through to tactical insights that inform and shape Group strategy and growth.
