The role

The difference our new Range Warden will make
As a Range Warden you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Providing general maintenance for the station within a metre range.


Day to day, you'll manage the range booking diary, general maintenance of the range fabric, targets and equipment daily as required by JSP403, ensure the timely reporting of requests for work services to the URSO/DURSO, ensure that the grass is kept short iaw AP3205 and JSP403, ensure the grassed area in front of the firing point is kept free form ricochet hazards, ensure that a regular supply of range targets are available and that the target centres are aligned with the datum on the range structure, ensure the range is presented in good order and fit for use before handing over to the RCO (Range Conducting Officer) at the commencement of each firing activity, post use checks must be carried out and you will be responsible for implementation of part the range orders.

This role is based on site at RAF Halton


Essential experience

  • Computer literate. (Inputting data).
  • Knowledge of a military environment.
  • Willing to attend a 2week training course at RAF Cosford.
  • Obtain or have the ability to obtain SC Clearance
