The role
The difference our new Trade Control Officer will make
As a Trade Control Officer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be working in a small but highly effective team that is responsible for managing Trade Control compliance.
You will be providing leadership and maintaining an environment that promotes compliance with applicable trade control laws and regulations of the UK, US, EU, and others as applicable, managing all trade compliance requirements on behalf of the company.
Day to day, you'll ensure that employees have received the appropriate trade controls training and facilitating signing of authorisation packages and other trade control required documentation, ensuring investigations of non-compliance and validation of classifications of products.
You'll also work with the Trade Control Team at both a Sector and Group level to ensure continual review and improvement to policy and procedure in pursuit of operational excellence.
You will be required to manage business demand and obtain all necessary permissions and licences through the UK's SPIRE portal as well as enabling the granting of internationally originating permissions and licences through strategic collaboration with external stakeholders.

Essential experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience
- A strong level of experience within the trade compliance domain
- Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements (UK/EEC and US ITAR/EAR) relevant to the industry across various businesses
- You are someone for whom collaboration and working in partnership comes naturally. You will bring ideas and solve complex problems with simple and elegant solutions. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running in a fastpaced environment
- You must be able to achieve SC clearance
