Description

The Physical Education Department

There are currently four full-time members of the PE/Games department, supported by a graduate sports assistant, external coaches and other members of the teaching body to allow a broad programme of physical activity.

Sport is an important part of the boys' development and wellbeing and is a compulsory activity for all boys at Wetherby Senior School.

We run a significant programme of competitive school fixtures which place in games lessons and after school. This means we do not run any sporting fixtures on Saturdays. We also regularly compete in Independent Schools Association (ISA) competitions, with recent success in Swimming, Skiing and

About the School
Wetherby Senior School was founded in 2015 and is a member of the Alpha Plus Group of Schools.

There are currently around 416 boys and this is the fourth year that the School has boys in every year group from Years 7 to 13.

Our first five sets of GCSE results have been excellent and we are proud to have continued this trend with our first three sets of A level results.

Our students achieved grades that allowed them to gain places at top UK Universities such as; Cambridge, LSE, Imperial, Durham and UCL and Universities aboard such as; the University of Chicago, Pompeu Fabra Barcelona and the IE Business School Madrid.

As a result, the School's size and reputation is growing rapidly and we now occupy two sites in Marylebone.

The School was founded to offer a progressive education in the heart of London.

The School's focus on providing an all-round education means that high standards are expected of the boys in all areas of school life.

The School provides the boys with a broad educational experience, which includes Philosophy in the curriculum, to ensure that they are able to think critically and to problem solve but also to ensure they can be creative and collaborative in their approach, so that they develop a sense of social responsibility and respect for others.

Our skilled staff, who have a wealth of experience, are preparing to send our pupils to leading universities in the UK, the US and elsewhere.

The Alpha Plus Group offers an attractive remuneration package.

Safeguarding

Wetherby Senior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The protection of our students' welfare is the responsibility of all Wetherby Senior School staff and individuals are expected to conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of our organisation.

Equal Opportunities

Wetherby Senior School wholeheartedly supports the principle of equal opportunities in employment; and actively opposes all forms of unlawful or unfair discrimination on the grounds of sex, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, race (which includes colour, nationality and ethnic or national origins), religion or belief, age or disability.

Wetherby Senior School is a thriving independent day school for boys aged 11-18 situated in the heart of London.

Since opening in 2015 the School has grown and in September 2018 we welcomed our first cohort of Sixth Form pupils following very successful GCSE results.

The School combines a rigorous academic education with an emphasis on developing the whole boy by giving him a broad educational experience and strong pastoral care.

We are an academically selective school and the main points of entry are 11+, 13+ and 16+.

The School is divided into the Lower School (Years 6 to 9), Middle School (Years 10 to 11) and the Sixth Form with Heads of Section taking responsibility for each age group.

Wetherby Senior is a welcoming and dynamic place to work with a strong sense of community. The school invests in its staff with a programme of continual personal development.

We seek to employ highly professional teachers with the ability and commitment to enhance the life of this School and to work effectively and collaboratively with all members of the School community to further develop the School.

Our emphasis on educating the whole boy means that all members of staff, in due course, will be expected to contribute to the pastoral care of a group of students as a Form Tutor as well as contributing to the School's co-curricular activities.
