I am currently seeking a high calibre professional to join an excellent company in Weybridge as an Assistant Controller for their Corporate finance department.
The role will take ownership of the financial reporting for the parent company and UK subsidiariesas well as providing business partner support to the respective budget holders.
Duties as the assistant financial controller to include but not limited to:
- Work in close partnership with the offshore team to ensure good financial control, timely close of month end ledgers, good understanding of accounting requirements across all accounting areas and the preparation of monthly reports, including the Group monthend pack and the Balance Sheet and Control Review
- Work closely with Finance team and respective budget holders to keep them informed, monitor cash flow, drive cash flow initiatives, deliver on finance strategies, and embed reporting that would enable indepth analysis of business performance and an understandingof key business drivers
- Work closely with Group Treasurer to ensure all Treasury transactions are recorded accurately and recharged as appropriate
- Work closely with external auditors on all Corporate legal entities
- Support the specialist functions to develop commercial and operational understanding of key contracts to ensure finance accounting is in line with contractual understanding and commerciality
- Responsibility for ensuring all corporate recharges and intercompany billings have been completed accurately for the month end reporting
- Quarterly bank reporting for the logistic entity
- VAT returns
- Capex monitoring and reporting
- Preparation of annual financial statements including liaison with external auditors
- To actively participate in driving forward best practice and to provide support and encouragement to the members of the offshore team
- Provide financial planning and indepth analysis support to assist in delivering financial targets, with a focus on cash generation and return on investment
- Focus on monthly performance and understand key underlying business trends to support continuous financial and operational improvement
- Challenge existing and develop new financial processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting, creating workflow efficiencies where possible
Person Specification, Qualifications & Package details:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) ideally 2 years would preferably have been spent operating in a multi-site, onshore/offshore shared service environment
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Strong system skills, experience in SAP B1 is desirable
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel
- Flexible and adaptable in approach in relation to business needs
- Ability to work with team members based in India and drive performance
- Strong communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
ASAP to carry out a handover before the person leaves on 20th of December.
