Protection of Children and Young Persons

Background to the Post


The post holder will be responsible for data processing and all administrative aspects of the admissions team which will include contact with potential and current students, parents of both existing and potential students as well as colleagues within the college and all other stakeholders.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Using the college Management Information system to log all customer interactions and build relevant customer profile information for communications and tracking purposes.
  • Continually developing a knowledge base of the college's portfolio of provision to be equipped to offer timely 'onestop' information on courses and reducing transfer of enquiries.
  • Supporting delivery of key recruitment events such as open days, interviews, and enrolment supporting these activities will require commitment to work out of normal business working hours.
  • Enrolling students onto the college MI system as and when required particularly at peak enrolment times and to provide cover for enrolment officers at other times.

In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

Annual Leave


The College offers a generous annual leave entitlement to support staff, commencing with 25 days rising to 28 days after 5 years' service, pro rata per annum plus 8 statutory days (Public & bank Holidays) and College closure days (all pro rata for part time posts).


Hours of Work


The post holder will be expected to work such hours as are necessary for the proper performance of their duties and responsibilities, normally 37 hours per week.

The hours of this position are negotiable.


Place of work
The principal place of work will be the College's premises based at our Royal Leamington Spa Centre.

However, the post holder may be required to work on either a temporary or an indefinite basis at any premises at which we may provide services.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Physical Make-up

Essential Attainments:


  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or Level 2 equivalent qualification, or willingness to work towards once in post.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable Attainments:


  • Experience of providing Information & Advice and of signposting to Guidance services
  • Experience of working in a targetdriven environment to secure sales/recruitment opportunities
  • Experience of working with both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:


  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of Equality and Diversity.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

*An unconsolidated pay award is a monthly percentage pay award that is non pensionable and ends in December 2023. The rate included on the job description is the annual full time equivalent amount.
