About the Role:

Wolverton Health Centre_ _has an opportunity for a prescription clerk to join our busy prescribing team, at the heart of our patient care service.

This role is offered on a part-time basis, for 25 hours per week with the times required below**:

Week 1:

Mon, Wed & Fri 8am1pm, Tues & Thurs 1pm6pm

Week 2:

Mon, Wed & Fri 1pm6pm, Tues & Thurs 8am1pm

The main responsibilities of the role include:

Responding to all queries and requests from chemists, nursing homes and district nurses, regarding the issue of prescriptions.
Keeping repeat prescription information uptodate in the patient journal, such as letters and doctors' requests.
Sending out review letters.
Organising blood tests (through ICE system) or blood pressure checks for patients, relevant to their prescribing needs.
Prescribing Incentive Scheme issue reports and letters, working around any guidelines issued to ensure budget reductions where possible.
Medicine management liaise and discuss any enquires or queries raised by the clinical team.
General ad hoc administration work.
Flexibility to cover other areas when required multiskill mix.
Keep uptodate with all prescribing guidelines and protocols, relevant to the position.

We are a very busy, friendly and caring practice looking for someone with energy and drive.

A good knowledge of computers is essential as you will be required to use the GP surgery clinical system which is Systm One on a daily basis.

You must be a good communicator, able to work on your own initiative and be part of a flexible team.

Previous administrative or reception experience essential

Experience of working within the NHS or within healthcare is preferable.

About Us:

We are a patient practice with 5 GP partners working from a purpose built building. We are part of Nexus MK PCN which covers 5 practices and approx patients.
