About the role:
We are looking for an innovative resourcing professional to manage the day to day delivery of all recruitment activity.
You will be accountable for the operational delivery of all recruitment across West Midlands Police including both uniformed and non-uniformed roles, making sure we get the right people on board to make a real difference in policing.

You'll be joining an enthusiastic team, who have been delivering significant front line volume recruitment, including police constables, PCSOs, special constables and colleagues in our force control room and delivering a range of innovative activities, such as our detective academy, talent bank, and recruitment into specialist teams and roles.
You will be an experienced resourcing and recruitment professional with knowledge of best practice, systems, technology and emerging trends in recruitment.
You will have demonstrable examples of developing and managing organisation wide resourcing delivery and experience of leading a high volume / high profile recruitment function while supporting a diverse team in a large or complex organisation.

Role Purpose:
- Engage with leaders and individuals to encourage a proactive and inclusive approach to resourcing
- Oversee effective delivery of recruitment activity into the Force
- Deliver on the force wide resourcing and recruitment strategy
- Champion the force recruitment campaigns to deliver the diverse workforce objectives within the D & I strategy
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of resourcing and recruitment activity to provide workforce metrics and qualitative data to improve performance and minimize adverse impact
- Be involved with partnership working internally and with other external organisations, agencies and suppliers
Essential:
- Experience in implementing and evaluating resourcing and recruitment interventions that have a visible impact on organisational success in a large, complex organisations
- Experience of delivering diversity through recruitment strategies and initiatives including positive action strategy
- Experience of managing a resourcing/recruitment team within a large complex organisation
- Knowledge of resourcing/recruitment practices and their contribution to business success
- Experience of managing/delivering high profile and fast paced volume recruitment activity
- Demonstrable experience of resourcing transformation and process improvement
Desirable:
- Experience in the design of resourcing initiatives at an operational level
- Contract management and procurement experience
- Relevant professional qualification (MCIPD or equivalent)

Vetting and Medical:
Successful applicants will be required to pass Management Vetting scrutiny prior to commencing their role, this will include a full background & financial disclosure as part of the vetting process.
Appointment to this role will also be dependent upon successfully medical checks, which may include a drugs test and if required a fitness test.
