The Role:
nAs a Tech Lead at the Citation Group, you will assume a leadership position within one of our engineering teams, taking on a pivotal role in guiding and shaping the technical direction of our projects together with the Engineering Manager.
You will work closely with the EngineeringnManager, the team and key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of high-quality, resilient and scalable solutions.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and mentor a team of engineers, contribute to technical strategy, and drive innovation within our organization.nThis is a hands-on role.
Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:
Together with the Engineering Manager provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of developers,nEnsuring the delivery of robust and scalable software solutions
nSolution Architecture:
Collaborate with technical architects, Engineering Manager and senior stakeholders and the development teamnTo design and architect solutions that align with business objectives, problem statements and following NorthStar architectural principles
nRequirements Translation:
Work closely with business stakeholders and Product teams to understand project requirements and translate them into well-defined technical specifications
nCode Quality:
Ensure the team adheres to best practices and standards related to software development, testing, and security, and oversee the creation of clean, efficient, and well-documented code through pairing and code reviews
nInnovation:
Identify opportunities for innovation and improvements in software development processes, tools, and technologies
nCross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with a range of teams, including onshore and offshore development teams, to ensure successful integrations
nQuality Assurance:
Oversee the execution of automation tests to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements
nProcess Improvement:
Continuously identify areas for process improvements and operational efficiencies and actively contribute to delivering these enhancements
nTechnical Evaluation:
Evaluate potential software solutions, including off-the-shelf and open-source components, to ensure they meet functional & non-functional requirements, are align with the system architecture
nMentorship and line management:
Provide mentorship and line management support to team members, fostering their professional growth and developmentnAdaptability: Stay flexible in your approach, being open to change and adaptable in dynamic project environments.
nLeadership – sit as part of the Leadership Team to help determine the strategy of the businessnClient Facing – on occasion, be the technical person in the room with clients or partners, helping them to get the best out of uChecks platformnCommercial:Understanding the commercial value added or risk mitigation and consider technical solutions inline with the associated value
nRunning costs awareness:
Contributing actively in reviewing running costs and evaluating possible cost improvements
Education & Experience:
nProven experience working as a Senior Software Engineer or similar technical role.nStrong experience in BDD, TDD, automated functional and non-functional testing and pair programming.nStrong experience in PHP development with a specific emphasis in an Agile/DevOps environment.nIn-depth understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and quality assurance (QA) processes.nExperience in secure software development processes and secure software solutionsnExperience in collaborating with third-party suppliers for solution delivery.nExperience in Infrastructure as Code, elastic scaling, containerization and AWS services and technologies.nExperience in line managing development teamnExperience working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
