Description
The Ophthalmology Team are looking for a new enthusiastic organised Team Leader for their busy Outpatient Department.


The new team leader will be expected to:

To Manage a team in Ophthalmology outpatient booking office, in order that patients receive the most appropriate appointment, having taken into account the needs of the patient, organisation, NHS targets and the modernisation agenda.

To encourage a culture of communication and promote effective team working. To customise the team to meet directorate's objectives by liaising closely with the clinical directorate management team. To assist and work with booking team members managing RMS services and work lists.

To Manage a group of booking staff.

To maintain and update PAS system, following training manual and procedures. To understand complete range of administration functions, responsibilities, and duties, both routine and non-routine.

To contribute to the effective delivery of patient care, through knowledge of hospital systems and consultant practice.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours per week


To Lead the management of booking, and to be responsible for all outpatient appointments in such a way as to maximise to use of available resources, giving due regard to waiting times.


Use knowledge and experience of PAS and RMS systems to deliver waiting time targets and management of bookings for specialties and consultants.

Also use this experience to deliver efficient administration and clerical working practices in line with operational needs of directorates and Trust.
