  • This is a fantastic opportunity to work across the East Midlands and AHSN Network, contributing to national and local programmes designed to enable improvements in clinical outcomes, deliver better patient experiences, contribute to driving down the cost of care and stimulate economic growth.

Offered on a fixed term basis, based at the University of Nottingham's Innovation Park, combined with home working as and when required.

Occasional travel within the East Midlands may be required.

Main duties of the job


The successful post holder will be responsible for leading on some key Commercial projects vital to the development and growth of the AHSN, including a particular focus on the delivery of external programmes, innovator support and also providing commercial support to internal AHSN developments.


The post holder's primary focus will be to provide effective support to the EMAHSN's commercially focused activities, innovators and to the industry elements of other EMAHSN programmes.

Also, to provide a key interface between the EMAHSN and East Midlands based (and relevant wider UK based) life sciences and healthcare commercial companies and social enterprises.


This role is a key interface between the NHS and our Innovation partners and entails the ownership from first interaction through funding, support, signposting, qualification and Innovation exchange.

We bring together partners from all sectors involved in health and care including the NHS, social care and public health, patients, research, third sector and industry to identify, test and spread new technologies and better ways of working.

We save the NHS money, generate economic growth, empower health and care staff, and improve lives for patients. We work closely with our health and care stakeholders to establish their priorities then provide support.

As part of a national network of AHSNs, we import evidenced solutions from other AHSN regions and export our successful East Midlands programmes on a national basis.

We have a range of objectives, but our overarching aim is always to make a difference for patients.

Key is the management of our key partners within the innovation eco-system and others to ensure we grow our pipelines and business activity while engaging relevant National bodies and providing market leading support.

It is anticipated that the role will evolve over time in relation to the needs of the various EMAHSN stakeholders.


There are well established programmes of work designed to provide support and services to healthcare related companies and innovators of differing levels maturity.


Key to the role will be the ability to bring forward knowledge and insights that support both the continuation and further development of these programmes.

In addition you will build and develop networks and relationships with Innovators, and key NHS stakeholders across the East Midlands and nationally through the AHSN Network
