    Job summary

    An exciting opportunity to lead the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion agenda for London's 250k employees has arisen due to the promotion of the previous role holder.

    They will lead a dynamic team, and support organisations across London at an organisation, ICB and regional level to make improvements in EDI. They will also lead on all aspects of finances pertaining to EDI including budget management (forecasting and expenditure) and procurement process.

    The successful candidate for this role will be skilled at building, nurturing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships across London and national teams to transform the work experience of people from all protected characteristics. They will deliver improvements either directly or in partnership with their networks.

    Main duties of the job

    The post holder will work with Equality, Diversity and Inclusion leads within the other regions and the National EDI team to influence policy. They will support the translation and adoption of best practice across the country.

    Programme deliverables may include but not limited to :

    o Developing and delivering presentations to EDI boards

    o Analysis and interpretation of EDI data

    o Evaluations of existing EDI interventions

    o Anti-racism strategy with partners across the systems

    o Workforce Race Equality Standard and Workforce Disability Quality Standard

    o De-biasing recruitment and selection

    o Core Managers- online development programme

    o Profession specific strategies - Nursing and Midwifery, AHPs and Primary Care

    Extensive experience in the implementation of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategies within complex organisation structures is required along with evidence of clear, demonstrable outcomes delivered in a rigorous programme management framework. In addition to leading the ongoing programme the role holder will also act as a Subject Matter Expert in Equality and Inclusion for the region providing support at a strategic level to senior leaders and EDI leads within and outside the organisation.

    Essential criteria

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
  • Experience of leading and embedding workforce equality and inclusion over a wide geographical area
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of implementing workforce equality and inclusion best practice
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and prioritising a large budget with solid working knowledge of financial process requirements
  • Ability to provide and receive, convey and present highly complex, sensitive and/or contentious information to large groups, responding openly to questions to ensure full understanding and engagement
