The UK Head of New Business and Supply Chain Strategy will report directly to the UK Offshore Managing Director, Development & Operations.

The role will lead the delivery of new projects through UK lease bidding rounds and Supply Chain Strategy activities to support delivery of the offshore business's long-term strategic plan for UK and Ireland, including coordinating the support of internal and external stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and strategic approach to the SPR offshore response, plans and communications across both principal areas of activity.


_What you'll be doing_


We will look to you to Lead on review of the UK market and delivering market intelligence to prioritise and support the decisions to enter new lease bidding processes.

In conjunction with The Head of Global New Business & Supply Chain Strategy, develop market intelligence to support bid values and associated transaction structures to ensure appropriate level of risk, cost and reward specific to UK & Ireland competitive environment.


You will also be responsible for leading the UK & Ireland Lease bidding team responsible for new lease bidding processes ensuring all relevant inputs completed for model preparation for projects.

Preparation of relevant presentations to senior management and committees from commencement of the bidding process through to post project award and hand over to the Business.

Lead as key New Business contact for The Crown Estate in the UK and Irish Government.


Managing and communicating the project risk of critical factors relating but not limited to technical, consenting, supply chain, programme timescales and operational deliverability that have high impacts on project and business performance and leveraging the knowledge, best practices and lessons learned of the Offshore Business and other relevant Corporate Departments in the delivery of robust lease bid propositions.


Identify regional and national stakeholders beneficial to the delivery of supply chain commitments and lead in the development of partnership strategy to assist delivery on local content supply chain commitments while provide a key SPR Offshore lobbying role to ensure alignment on cohesive messaging and key asks in relation to future leasing rounds and supply chain commitments across a range of associated stakeholders not least UK government, devolved governments, industry and trade bodies.


Management directly and indirectly of a highly skilled team of Financial, Commercial and Supply Chain professionals responsible for developing and continuously improving the UK and Ireland bid presentation and supply chain offering for Iberdrola.


_What you'll bring_

  • A proven delivery track record of managing high value procurement/auction projects with experience within project/development management environment, ideally in commercially focused renewables business with offshore development experience.
  • Broad range of business, strategic, leadership and technical skills with demonstrable experience in similar senior complex roles.
  • Educated to degree level/Masters degree or equivalent professional qualification ideally in a management discipline and have technical and commercial awareness of large scale Energy/ Engineering projects.
  • Ideally have proven external networks and contacts (Energy Industry, Consultants, Advisors, Regulatory Authorities) in the field of Renewables leasing and development or equivalent energy industry
  • Proactive People Manager and motivator with sound relationship management skills and confident operating at senior management level, creating expectations and managing these expectations
  • Ability to conduct financial analysis and be able to work to tight deadlines in a highly pressured environment.
  • Ability to inform, influence and collaborate across ScottishPower/Iberdrola at senior management level.
  • Knowledge of electricity markets and ability to assess new markets quickly and effectively.
  • Sound planning and analysis skills with the ability to look forward and see / anticipate problems and thereafter plan and implements mitigating solutions to negate the effect of such problems.
  • High level influencing, negotiating, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Tenacity, persistence and determination to succeed overcoming obstacles
  • High capacity for change and experience of leading others through change
  • Ability to integrate a multinational, multi discipline team and ensure they are functioning as a single entity
