We are now looking for a Production Shift Supervisor for our Teesport site working on a 24/7 shift pattern.

As supervisor you will have the overall responsibility for operating all aspects of the production plant safely to manufacture product to the correct quality and output with optimum efficiency.

Team work is essential for the efficient operation of the plant and close communication and liaison within the team and with the other shift teams and operators is essential.


Comprehensive communication regarding the status of all operations at shift changeover is a critical component for the safe and efficient operation of the plant and it will be your responsibility to ensure that all members of the team transfer the necessary updates to the incoming team.

You will also be responsible for completing and recording required 5S activities and completing checks on the operation of the plant to comply with health, safety and environmental legislation and company requirements.


Specific responsibilities for a the production shift team may vary from day to day but would typically include receiving and analyzing bulk and packaged chemical raw materials and packaging, reacting and blending solid and liquid chemicals, packing out finished product into drums, IBCs and tankers, maintaining plant equipment to required standards, dispatching product to customers and entering quality control and environmental testing results into required databases.


You will liaise with your operational colleagues to ensure priorities and procedures are understood and followed so that the plant is operated in a safe and efficient manner raise work permits for contractors and employees for all non-routine work and perform the necessary risk assessments to ensure that work is carried out safely.

You will also be involved with the generation of standard operating procedures for plant operations.

What you'll bring to the team:

  • An appropriate electrical or mechanical biased qualification, ideally apprentice trained with the ability to cross skills within trades and post qualification experience in an industrial (preferably chemical) environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • GCSE level qualifications or equivalent.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
